Thailand: Strengthening Multilateral Trade Negotiation Skills 2000

Under the CIDA-financed project, CTPL, together with the Thai Ministry of Commerce Department of Business Economics, launched a comprehensive series of training initiatives designed to strengthen the negotiating capacity and skills of Thai trade negotiators, enhance the trade awareness of government officials, academics and business professionals. Project activities included a WTO Negotiation and Training course in Thailand followed by a one-day public seminar, and intensive training and strategic planning sessions in Canada. The project included a two-month internship in Canada for four promising junior trade officials working on negotiation issues of importance to Thailand.
