Trade, Innovation, and Industrial Performance: India - Canada Linkages

Technological transformations and the changing structures of global trade present new challenges for both India and Canada. In Trade, Innovation and Industrial Performance: India-Canada Linkages these challenges form the basis for an analysis of each country's potential for growth and an examination of the trade, investment, and technology relations between the two. Contributors from four institutions - the Institute of Economic Growth (IEG) in Delhi, India, the Centre for International Studies (CIS) in Toronto, Canada, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) in India, and the Centre for Trade Policy and Law (CTPL) in Ottawa, Canada - provide case studies of Indian and Canadian industries, and analyses of policy and its industry-level and macroeconomic effects. The outcome of a joint project funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and managed by the Conference Board of Canada, the papers in this volume are intended to stimulate policy debate about the prospects for improving international competitiveness in both countries, and deepening bilateral relations between them.
