To understand the unique nature of APEC's contribution to Canadian trade and economic objectives, this paper places APEC's role within the context of broader Canadian, regional, and global trade policy activities, analyzes the contribution being made by APEC, and assesses the likelihood of APEC realizing some of its stated goals.
