This paper examines the various international obligations, such as obligations relating to sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures and technical barriers to trade (TBTs), that have developed to promote regulatory reform. These obligations can be found in multilateral as well as regional agreements.This paper will explain their implementation in Canada, and address how these obligations, and their implementations, can be improved.
