This paper is based on a group assignment completed by the authors, all Master's students at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, as part of their graduate course on International Financial Institutions and Policy. In the case of this report, the Department of Finance identified as a topic of interest the impending review of the Export Development Corporation's mandate. The task assigned was to identify the relevant background to the EDC mandate review, expose the issues of notable contention, and analyze the associated arguments.This report provides useful information and analysis for anyone interested in export credit and the EDC.
