Labelling of Genetically Modified Products: Strategic Trade Policy Considerations for Canada (2001)

This paper looks at the issues that must be taken into consideration in the formulation of Canadian Trade Policy with respect to the labelling of genetically modified products. It examines the rationale behind GMO labels, the practical and logistical issues involved with both mandatory and voluntary labelling and the relevant GATT/WTO rules.
